What?
- A fun program where participants collaborate to build and program a robot that competes on a 12’ by 12’ field. The challenge is new each year and is designed to challenge students to think critically and expand their knowledge of the engineering process.
Who?
- Teams of up to 15 students from grades 9 – 12, coached by adult mentors, and mentored by members of KING TeC.
Why?
- To inspire kids in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The very motto of FIRST stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.
Where and When?
- Starting in September
- Ending from early March to late April depending on success
- Teams meet at PLHS twice a week to work for two hours
