What?

• A fun program where participants collaborate to build and program a larger robot that competes on a 27′ by 54’ field. The challenge is new each year and is designed to help students to think critically and expand their knowledge of the engineering process.

Who?

• A single team of students from grades 9 – 12, coached by adult mentors.

Why?

• To inspire kids in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The very motto of FIRST stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.

Where and When?

• Starting in January
• Ending from early March to late April depending on success
• Teams meet at PLHS Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3-8. Students are not required to be there the full time and can come and go at their leisure.
